FWIW, shared folders don't seem to work very well. Keep in mind, though, that if your host is gentoo and you emerged the source version of virtualbox, shared folders don't work. Update: thanks everyone for the support i learned i needed guest additions. I'm not sure whether I have hardware virtualization enabled or not. I tried to use the find command, but I could not find the folder. Once I pressed ok, I tried to look for it in my Arch Linux distro, however, I did not find it. When I made it shared I checked the options auto-mount and make permanent, I did not check the option read only, nor did I add anything in mount point. Now that specs are over, I was trying to make the folder 'shared folder for arch test apps' shared, in my Arch Linux guest OS. The host system is windows 10, version: 19041.572. I'm not sure what host extensions or guest additions are. See the screenshot below for more lsb_release -aĭrwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 19 04:02. In my case, the command `vmware-hgfsclient` was aware of the shared folder, but the directory `/mnt/` was empty, and there was no `/mnt/hgfs/`.
